HISTORY In 1889, two brothers Andre and Edouard Michelin embarked on a great human and industrial odysseys. Developed modern transport solutions, through careless innovation it is the key to freedom and economic development. Edouard Duabree marries a scot, Elizabeth Pugh Baker, niece of the scientist - Macintosh who discovered the solubility of rubber in benzene. By manufacturing play ball for children, she introduces rubber into the french auvergne region. During those period of time, they manufactured first by hand and then with the help of a machine, invented by her husband, Edouardo Duabree. The Michelin company employs 52 people and ints plant lies on 30 Acres close to the place Des Carmes in Clermont-Ferrand. Its Attempts to revitalize its activity with a rubber brake pad called "The Silent" thus reflecting the company's early interest in transportation. Michelin files its first patents for detachable tire that can be repaired in a quarte of an hour. Michelin invents the detachable steel wheel prefiguring the spare wheel in 1913. In 1940 the company takes the name of Michelin Rubber manufacturing as manufacturers of automobile tires. In 1946 the research continues on what they call 'the radial casing', culminating in an avant-garde. The first "Green Guide" for a North American location, New Yok City is published which marks the day as well that the Michelin tire brands become on of American Tire. Michelin Group is active on all continents, from China to Brazil and from the United States of America to Germany and Russia.
