About the Yokohama ADVAN SPORT ZPS

The Yokohama ADVANSPORT ZPS is a max performance summer run flat tire made for high performance sedans, sports coupes and sports car. The ZPS in the name means zero pressures system. These tires provide great traction with comfort and not to mention peace of mind. Advan Sport ZPS combines a high level of traction with high speed durability on roads that are wet or dry. They offer temporary extended motility up to 50 mile at no more than 50 miles per hour after the occurrence of a puncture allowing the tires to operate at complete air pressure. This is a summer tire and so it is not made for use in near freezing temperatures through ice and snow. The Advan Sport SPS tire is made with a silica blend tread compound which provides grip that is not affected by different temperatures. The tread design is asymmetric and has five main ribs including a large exterior shoulder zone. The lateral is what is responsible for blending noise comfort and ride comfort as well. There are an additional four circumferential grooves that help to push water through the tires footprint to provide the tire with the ability to resist hydroplaning and thus enhancing the wet traction of the tire. On the insides the tires have two steel belts that have been spirally wound with nylon cap plies for reinforcement. This enhances the uniformity of the ride and provides strength. The sidewalls of the tire have been tuned so they will resist deflection to support the vehicles weight while providing predictable handling. This will continue to support the weight of the vehicle even after a puncture and at complete pressure loss.
