About the Yokohama AVID ENVIGOR ZPS

Yokohama developed the AVID ENVIGOR ZPS (Zero Pressure System) as its High-Performance All-Season run-flat tire to meet the continual driving needs of drivers of coupes, sedans and sports cars. The AVID ENVIGOR ZPS has the ability to offer short-term prolonged mobility at 50 mph for up 50 miles distance if there is a complete loss of air pressure caused by a puncture. The tire combines ride comfort, performance and long tread life including all- season traction even in light snow. The AVID ENVIGOR ZPS molds an all-season silica tread compound into an enhanced contact patch that features a five-rib directional design, which combines performance and all-season traction. Connected shoulder blocks and an unbroken pointed center rib enhance tread rigidity to provide improved straight-line tracking and precise handling. Self-regulating intermediary blocks, adaptive 3D sipes, and angled grooves enhance wet grip help to resist skidding and support traction in light snow. The inner structure of the AVID ENVIGOR ZPS tire features identical steel belts strengthened by jointless nylon belt shields and spirally wound belt edge bands to provide lasting reliability under tough conditions while reducing tire weight to deliver a better-balanced ride quality. Double rayon cord body plies provide expected handling while Yokohama's ZPS sidewall backing provide short-term support for the vehicle's weight in the event of a puncture that causes complete air pressure loss.
